Build Dynamic Power, Reduce Knee Injuries, and Prepare for Winter with Dryland Training.

Preparing the human body for the physical demands of winter sports requires more than generic fitness routines. The Alpine Training Project in Seattle delivers an evidence-based, 6-week pre-season ski conditioning series engineered to build strength, endurance, enhance dynamic stability, and reduce the risk of common alpine injuries.

Led by physical therapist Kristen Vaughan, PT, this hybrid training program combines weekly, high-energy, in-person, group circuit style HIIT workouts at Union PT with video-led workouts that you complete at home or in your gym on your own time. This program builds week over week preparing you to tackle your goals for this winter season. The workouts are scalable to your current fitness level and aspirations for your time in the mountains.

Your registration for the hybrid program includes 6 months of access to ATPs online training content that carries you through the season with in-season training and tune up workouts. Whether charging deep resort powder, carving steep groomed terrain, or setting skin tracks in the backcountry, this program provides the physiological base needed to ski harder, recover faster, and stay out longer.

Instructor Profile:

Kristen Vaughan, PT

Biography: Kristen is one of the founders of the Alpine Training Project and is passionate about helping people feel strong in their bodies in order to feel prepared and enjoy their time in the mountains.  She has been practicing physical therapy and leading people in ski conditioning for over 15 years.  She is also a pelvic floor PT and has a particular interest in helping women in all life stages experience their strength and stay connected to the activities they love.

Kristen began skiing as a little tyke at Big Mountain in Whitefish, MT.  Her background includes freeskiing on the Freeride World Qualifier circuit, backcountry skiing around the cascades, B.C. and Chile, and in-bounds riding at Crystal Mountain and other resorts around the Western U.S. and Canada.  In the past few seasons, she has been invested in passing on the love of skiing to her kids –  pre-season training deadlifts have been most helpful for repeatedly hauling her toddlers up from the slopes of the bunny hill!

Teaching the ATP ski class each fall has been a highlight of every year and she looks forward to this years crew!1
