Build Dynamic Power, Reduce Knee Injuries, and Prepare for Winter with Dryland Training.

Preparing the human body for the physical demands of winter sports requires more than generic fitness routines. The Alpine Training Project in Kenmore delivers an evidence-based, 6-week pre-season ski conditioning series engineered to build strength, endurance, enhance dynamic stability, and reduce the risk of common alpine injuries.

Led by physical therapist Evin Tobey, PT, this hybrid training program combines weekly, high-energy, in-person, group circuit style HIIT workouts at Lake Washington Physical Therapy with video-led workouts that you complete at home or in your gym on your own time. This program builds week over week preparing you to tackle your goals for this winter season. The workouts are scalable to your current fitness level and aspirations for your time in the mountains.

Your registration for the hybrid program includes 6 months of access to ATPs online training content that carries you through the season with in-season training and tune up workouts. Whether charging deep resort powder, carving steep groomed terrain, or setting skin tracks in the backcountry, this program provides the physiological base needed to ski harder, recover faster, and stay out longer.

Instructor Profile:

Evin Tobey, PT

I am an outpatient physical therapist with over two years of experience, with a strong clinical focus on lower extremity injuries and a passion for working with winter sport athletes. My approach emphasizes translating the specific demands of skiing into targeted, functional training in the clinic, helping patients not just recover, but return to the mountain with resilience and confidence. I prioritize building strength, dynamic stability, and mobility in ways that reflect real-world movement, bridging the gap between rehabilitation and high-level performance.

As a lifelong downhill skier, I enjoy everything from carving fast groomers to navigating trees and chasing powder days. I believe that thoughtful strength and mobility training enhances not only injury prevention but also on-snow confidence and progression. Drawing from my background in physical therapy, health and exercise science, and experience leading both adult fitness and dance classes, I aim to create engaging, challenging sessions that help athletes move better, ski stronger, and continue developing their skills each season.
